Water sector financing needs and sources of financing, including the potential for cost reductions and the use of tariffs, taxes, transfers (the 3Ts) and repayable financing (loans, bonds, equity)
Existing constraints for mobilising financing and ways to overcome these constraints via innovative financing instruments (microfinance, OBA, blending, revolving funds, pooled funding, etc…)
Output-Based Aid (OBA), a specific innovative financing instrument supported by donors
The donors financing instruments
Purpose of strategic financial modelling
Understanding the different sources of financing for the sector and ways to generate additional financial resources (via tariffs reforms or external investment)
Understanding the goals and potential use of a financial model as a decision-making tool and ability to specify reference terms for such financial model.
